Computer to tv

I have 2 Samsung LCD TV's i can connect my laptop by VGA to my 19" TV but when i do exactly the same to my 42" i get nothing, i have looked in the the manual and i can find nothing that can explain what to do... I am using the same laptop and i have used the same cable, any ideas, i am puzzlefkd.

it's probably a resolotion problem .... 19" has a native tesolution of 1440x900 - while the 42" is actually less (1024 x 768 or 1366 x 768)

the 19" is also more likely to be PnP so will be detected automatically - you need to read the book .... determine the resolution .... and then try manually adjusting the lappy (you'll need to "switch" the display
