Kids show from early 90s

Does anyone know the name of a show where two girls investigate strange goings on around their town. Things like ancient burial sights, magic and other mystical stuff. The main girl was short, a lisp? and curly brown hair, I think her name was Marcie?, Nancy? she was a bit of a loner.  The other girl was tall and blonde. It was a really dark show, I think on BBC1. Its been bugging me for years

No, I dont believe it was that. This show wasnt about crimes or anything like that, just supernatural going ons

Maybe you are thinking of Dark Season? There was a girl called Marcie in that, and the strange goings on were centred around the school when that machine called the Behemoth came up from the school stage. It was mega creepy.
