flooring and dogs
Hi. I am planning on putting a new flooring down in my hall and I need something that is really tough and durable. I have a dog so I need something that is easy to keep clean and is resistant to doggie paws (ie: their nails). I have gone off carpet and was thinking along the lines of wooden, laminate or tiles. My only concern is that I don't want to get something that is going to be scratched in a week and therefore looks awful. Anyone got any bright ideas????

SOmetimes she won't go into the kitchen for her snacks as she has to cross the dining room floor to get to them
(but then my dog is a big softy)
What about some nice old victorian style tiles and then a mat or runner to protect it-somthing like sisal, sea grass or coir as its hard wearing and natural
Tiles are easy to mantain and keep clean and are quite scratch resistant but they can be quite cold underfoot so possibly put underfloor heating in if your budget stretches to that.
