What is happening to Saturday night tv? Does anyone else think the One And Only with Graham Norton is dreadful? Anyone could look l;ike Lionel Ritchie or the other lookalikes with that much make up. How can i check the viewing figures? They must have plummetted.

As for ITV, that quiz show with Nick Hancock is baffling and Thank God Your Here with Paul Merton is embarrassing.

Oh god ,i agree!!That One and Only has got to be the worst thing on the box at the moment, its awful,i find myself cringing when its on...who the hell is responsible for that tripe!??As for ITV well i gave up watching that years ago when those annoying litle oikes Ant and Dec where on all the bloody time!! I either read, watch a dvd or stick pins in my eyes, anything to avoid saturday night telly....rant over!! :)
yes it is awful at the moment. Bring back Ant and Dec!!! I do like the Harry Hill video clip things and occasionally there may be 'an audience with....' that can be a bit different but no real family entertainment! best just watch a movie!
ha ha cyanide - I am not a fan of Ant and Dec either although my reply reads that way, but I found them better than anything that is on at the moment!

I dont think the answer is to fill up two hours of prime time with a James Bond movie either! (which is what the planners do if they cant think of anything else).
Yes I am with you on this one - the Paul Merton show is just cringey, I watched the very first one with Fern and have not watched it since. Blooming awful. As for that rubbish with Graham *titer titter titter I said boobies* Norton, how that passes for Saturday night entertainment I will never know. I could see more talent at my local on karaoke night, if they did a kaaoke night, which they don't. But even then it'd probably be infinitely more amusing.

Although I have seen the Nick Hancock show I can't quite place it at the moment, there's a lot of gameshows on at the moment and all I can think of is that sodding Golden Balls (ok I am going off the point now because it is not on Saturdays) but since when should we encourage people to diceive others in order to get large sums of cash? Jasper Carrott is flipping annoying, and the entire show is excrutiatingly dragged out over the course of an hour for gawd sake.

*sigh*
Thanks Johnny, I feel much better now :-)
The lottery - that's another one. Surely most people just want to see the draw don't they? Why fill an hour (?) with utter cr@p when all people want to see is those six numbers.
i can remember the halcyon days when saturday night tv was fantastic!!!those were the days!!! im the same though i just usually wath the premiere move on sky or play the ps3 or watch a dvd..
These stations buy these "stars" from the other side then when they get them the find out who untalented they are so hav to find terrible shows to put them on .If you had an idea for a show would you let most of these people present read ruin it .I do a mean impression of Walter Brennan cant wait fo the programme Stage coach Sing along to find some one for Oklahoma.

We shouild all now get on the BBC and ITV forums and protest at this mediocrity. It would be interesting to know if they have received any complaints.
Have to agree. Bring back the family shows - the Price is Right, Generation Game, etc etc

ITV were nearly there with Family Fortunes this time round - really good family viewing. But one show in a line up of drivel just doesn't cut it.

(And what's wrong with James Bond? put him on every night!)
I love Duel & I find Thank god you`re Here very funny. It takes some skill to ad-lib. I agree re One & Only. The impression given prior to it starting was that it was a search for Britains top Tribute act. Not a show where any Tom, Dick or Harry could audition for.

My wife has just told me that there are seven acts left in The One And Only. Two go out tonight and next week is the final with the remaining five acts. Could it be that the BBC have pulled it off early?
I agree with most others, weekend TV is absolute rubbish, although I do like Dancing on Ice, but that's only one programme out of how many? I also used to look forward to Corrie on Sunday, but we haven't even got that now. Why can't they put on a fairly recent film, or a good modern drama? I just wonder sometimes what i am paying my licence fee for!
Apparently Corrie was taken off on a Sunday so that Sunday night could be made more family orientated and improve weekend viewing. What we have now is absolutely abysmal weekend viewing.

As for the One and Only, I have never seen such a dreadful show, and haven't watched it since week one.

Even dancing on ice is wearing thin.

Weekend viewing used to be better twenty or thirty years ago when they had good old fashioned variety shows and dramas.
