Problem with washer/dryer

I have a Hotpoint BWD12 1200 spin washer /dryer, the problem I have with is I don't know how to just use the washer bit only - the dryer always kicks in and is destroying my clothes if I'm not there to switch it off

Does anyone have these...

You must be setting a drying cycle as well as the washing cycle.

Many thanks.. I've not been in the property long and the electrical appliances were all in the price but there wasn't any user guide
