what can i claim for doing 16 hour work a week i;m claiming working tax i;m 57 have a young child and i have heart trouble and partner on incapacity benefit

Not much i'm afraid, you can't claim JSA (jobseekers allowance) as you are working 16 hrs pw, if you were doing under 16 hrs and looking for more hours you could then claim JSA.

you can't claim Incapacity benefit unless you are off sick from your employer and even then you may not qualify as it is based on national insurance contributions and if you are working 16 hrs i doubt you are paying any.

it would be worth your partner enquiring to the jobcentre about claiming Income support as a top up to his incap but this is a mean tested benefit and household income/saving etc are taken into account when calculating entitlement.

You are entitled to something i think. You should pop into your local jobcentre for a chat and find out. or visit www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk for some more information :)
Hi.
If you have a medical condition you could well be entitled to DLA & you can claim this online at the DWP website. If you are entitled, you will be backdated from the day you claimed. This is a non means tested benefit & will also increase the amount of Tax credits you get.
