with reference to my post of 29/1/08 I would just like you all to know my friend had her cat put to sleep this morning. She is devastated Mny thanks once again Chrissy xx
It"s so , so sad when you lose your pet, perhaps you could pass this onto your friend....Many will walk in and out of your life, only true friends will leave paw prints in your heart.Regards g.
So sorry to hear that your friend eventually had to let her baby go today.
It will probably be the kindest thing she has done for her cat.
No more suffering but your friend will be feeling devastated.
I am so sorry to here that, chrissy. Unfortunately, kidney failure is quite devastating in how quickly the pet deteriorates. It will take time for your friend to adjust to the loss...time heals all xx
I have not read the original post Chrissy as I know I will be in floods of tears, I am so sorry, can you pass on my best wishes to your friend?
Cheers Sue
I have been away and just got round to reading this. I lost my 'boy' last year, he just deteriorated over three days and he was only 7 which seemed very young for a cat. I felt cheated that we lost him so early and I was heartbroken. I logged onto the Blue Cross web site where they have a memorial page. I posted a memorial and it was very cathartic to write the words I wanted to tell him. Also the blue cross have a bereavement counselling service whch again was helpful. Rainbow bridge brought tears every time I read it. It took many months to come to terms with his death and to this day I would do anything to have him back. Finally after 14 months I have found the courage to take on two rescue kittens and I was ready to love them. time will heal but you have to grieve first before you can open your heart to another. I hope your friend takes the time to grieve and I hope that one day the pain will be less and that she finds strength to cope with the loss of her dear companion.
