Why not adopt an endangered species for her. It will last longer than flowers and she will get regular updates about how they are doing.
My Mum likes gardening so I have got her some unusual plants and nice garden ornaments in recent years. This year I have ordered her some pansies that go in a hanging basket and produce thousands of flowers! If your Mum has any hobbies, that should give you some ideas - I am sure she would appreciate something connected.
every year my mom asks for a card and daffodills. she believes that it isnt about the presents.
I have given my mum things through Action Aid in the past but this year we are taking her to see Mamma Mia (obviously doesnt know yet). Is there a good show or even a film near to you? My mum also does just like her 'girls' to take her out to lunch or even just cook her her dinner x

Thanks everyone for the great ideas.
Am I the only one that thinks mothers day is getting too commercial. I get a card that got made at school, and maybe a bunch of flowers if I'm lucky and dad remembered. Without the flowers that card means more to me than any, spa day, cuddly toy that says 'Mam, yr the best', hot air balloon ride, or sponsored Panda, (though they are cute). I keep the cards every year, and when the kids get to 20, or 30, I'll still be happy with a bunch of daffs and a card, I'd rather they spent it on themselves. I may well be unique. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all u mums!!
sorry ethanryan, u said it first, teach me to read properly. HMD

I wish Mother's Day would go back to how it used to be. You're right, it is too commercialised. But my Mum is expecting a present.
Father's day has been totally made up by card companys, it isn't even a proper tradition.
