How long till metabolism slows down?
3 Answers
I have been doing the following eating plan for around one month:
MON TUES WED...LOW calories (around 500 - 800)
THURS FRI SAT SUN: Medium calories (1500 - 2000) (ie: a "normal" eating plan on these days)
I've lost 4kg / 9 pounds so far this way (yay!!!)
I DONT want my metabolism to slow though. Do you think that as I only cut calories for three days at a time I should be okay (PS - I have increased mye exercise too)

You have basically reduced your overall weekly calorie intake and have lost weight as a result. You are burning more calories than you are eating. All diets result in immediate weight loss because the person has reduced their food intake. Whether you can continue for EVER is another matter. It sounds to me that you are going to be starving for 3 days a week, which could affect your functionality, relationships etc. And then the rest of the week you eat more. why not just eat 1250 a day? OR look at it as a weekly consumption- and make sure you have 1250 x 7 a week. If the average- 1250 (approx) is less than you were eating before, you will lose weight.
It really is just a case of equations! Or why not do alternate days? That way you could ensure that your metabolism- if it slows down- definitely won't.

well done to you , its a great achievement keep it up , perhaps best to average it out though, I can't diet , I love chocolate too much .......... and after all life is far too short to be unhappy ........ If i die with a mars bar in one hand and a bag of maltesers in the other my lifes destiny has been fulfilled......... :-)
