Petrol query

I drive a Nissan Micra 1 point something litre engine. Can anyone tell me how much petrol is left in the tank when the needle is on red and I hear a beep. How many miles can I go on this. Ta.

A low fuel indicator usually indicates there is a gallon of fuel left, but running the fuel this low can pull muck from the bottom of the tank into the engine causing problems.

I wouldn't risk more than 20 miles, but a gallon should take a Micra further than that!

from experience your last drops of petrol should get you within 2 mile of the nearest garage before your left pushing, somehow it doesnt matter how far away the garage is.
