Just need to get the feeding sorted as she takes an ounce no problem then fights the rest. Shes bringing up wind no problem and we are lost as to why she feeds without fighting but then creates after even though shes still hungry.
hi red, shes showing symptoms of colic, she actually brings up wind quick (and loudly lol) We are using bottles with anti colic valves and even tried adding anti colic drops just in case, but shes still the same. I dont think its colic at all, shes not stressed or seems in any pain/discomfort, she just fights it lol
Is she latching on fully , ie no gaps to suck lots of air in too.
How is your milk supply honey , do you find you are ready to feed , and that you may leak , either near feeds , hearing her cry , or on the other side while she is feeding her first side . Do you give her both sides each feed ?
Or do you think your supply not adequate ?
If you have plenty , it may be that she is taking it too quickly and getting griped . ? How often do you feed , is it to routine , or on-demand ?
Sorry about the 20 questions love .....lol

lol bigmamma, I breastfed her for 17 days but then I seemed to be drying up as she was she would suck the life out of both sides and still be wanting more, so I decided to change her over to formula. Tried her on Farleys first milk but this didnt seem to agree with her and she didnt seem to like it at all. Shes now on Aptamil first and seems to agree with her. She will take to a feed no problem and drink well for an ounce/ounce and a half. Then she stops so I wind her, which doesnt take long, and try her again. This is when she starts fighting it. I know shes still hungry because shes trying to eat everything that goes within 6 inches of her mouth! She will take more but battles it all the way. Shes only having 2-3 oz each feed where ideally she should be having 3-4 oz at 3 weeks and feeding times are taking about an hour which is doing nothing for my beauty sleep lol
I feel like Ive stolen your thread now, I shouldve just posted in family somewhere shouldnt I? lol

No sweets , don't worry about what chat goes on my threads ...lol...
As I suggested , put your free fingers from holding the bottle , under her chin and gently encourage her to take more from the bottle , how are you holding her for her bottles , babies can refuse after their initial hunger quench , if they are sensing the breast anywhere near them , it's mums "smell" , even if you are no longer feeding . You could try baby facing you but at a distance from your chest or upper arm. Does she feed better for hubby if you are not in the room btw ?

bigmamma used to be a midwife funnygirl lol thats why I know I can always go to her for good advice.
bigmamma, what you said does make sense apart from the fact that I can probably get her to feed more than her dad, but thats probably due to my perserverance more than anything. Ive been thinking about her feeding habits and she actually started doing this whilst she was solely breastfeeding. Thats what made me start thinking I was no longer producing enough.
