Watching masterchef the other day i was wondering what the hell was farquar (probably not spelt right)? How do cook it? Any recipes would be nice as well..

Do you mean foie gras ? It's goose liver - the goose having been forcibly fattened to enlarge the liver. Not tremendously pleasant for the goose - more info here....

I would agree with you there Macs.... that sort of treatment of animals is banned here in the UK, although the resulting product can be imported (I'm veggie, so you can imagine how I feel about it!)
