Every year for about 20 0r more years now frogs have come to our pond in the garden and deposited spawn. Last year we had about 50 frogs. This year there are none at all. We have done nothing different this year, just let nature take its course, but no frogs. Can anybody tell me why?
Think it takes about 4 years for frogs to reach maturity. If anything's happened to the ones who bred and deposited frogspawn in your pond, then the young frogs which survive your latest batch may be back later. Awwww!
Where in the country are you? Mine only reappeared last Saturday- pond was full of spawn on Sunday- but no sign of them before that. So still time! I am in Beds.
I spoke too soon. Saw 8 frogs in the pond today. I'm in Tyne and Wear, but saw frogspawn in a pond further north of me on Saturday which made me panic. Thanks for all your kind thoughts.
