you could try massaging her back with comfrey ointment available from health shop. or dilute some wintergreen oil with olive oil and massage daily..as she is on a lot of medication you have to be carefull of what remedys you try in tablet form..you could try vitamin b12 and the b complex vitamins as these are vitamins that work with the central nervouse system skin cells etc.. a lot of people are defficient in these vitamins and dont realise it ,,,you should try to get her to drink ginger tea ..either get the tea bags from health shop or...grate a bit of root ginger steep in half a cup of boiling water for about an hour,,strain then add honey to sweeten and get her to drink this 3 x a day..if you wish you can also give her nettle tea 3 x a day also dont sweeten that...devils claw is a safe herbal tablet to take..st johns wort would be excellent but it stops medication working so thats of no use..if you can keep thinking you are dealing with a cold disease and you need to balance it out with hot things such as ginger ..cinnamon..cayenne pepper,,allthough i am sure a 80 year old would be relluctant to take cayenne..cod liver oil would also be of benefit..and dandelion coffee...ps if you cant get wintergreen oil to massage with try rosemary just 3 drops in a tablespoon of olive or almond oil and try to do it daily preferably in the evening...mullein
I asked my doctor if he would let me take marijuana for my arthritis pain. He said he was only allowed to prescribe it for people with M.S. I was actually prepared to take it, even though I have never smoked or taken drugs in my life. I am sure it is less harmful than the chemical drugs that are prescribed to me. I haven't a clue (being in the older age group) how to get hold of the stuff!!! I did ask my son, but he was not keen on letting me know where to get it. I could grow it, I suppose, but where do I get the plants and I don't fancy jail!
I put enough for about two joints into a pot that made about three cups..we let it brew for about 5 minutes first. It isn't a cure unfortunately...just a bit of welcome relief, and she only has it when absolutely neccessary...about 2-3 times a week....apparently it's great sprinkled on cheese on toast too...!
