Does anyone know of any reasons why the number of tourists visiting Rio from the UK has drastically increased over the past few years?

I am led to believe that the security of tourists in Rio has seen a steep improvement, so imagine many people would feel safer going there, and thus give it a go.

Its also now seen as a trendy place for a long weekend which it never was.
