I have an ancient [1950`s] Monrotiller I want to restore, has anyone out there any relevant information ?? Is it too much to expect an instruction book ??

You might be lucky and find an AB member who is an expert about such things.

Alternatively, you could invest a tenner in membership of the Vintage Horticultural & Garden Machinery Club and definitely find others who can help you. (Their home page even includes a photograph of a MonroTiller, owned by a member, so you'd certainly be in the right place):

Alternatively, there's a guy called Andy (who describes himself as a 'MonroTiller enthusiast') who has renovated several machines and who is offering advice to fellow enthusiasts. His phone number and e-mail address are here:

There is an Old Lawnmower Club, assuming it is a lawn mower (even if it isn't I am sure they can help)

Theres a bloke on this website who does up that type of thing and might be able to help you if you post a query, cant remember his user name at the moment but might be worth joining and hell give you a link to his own website, I signed up on there because I was trying to get rid of an old rotavator that my Dad has and seemed a shame to dump it down the tip and he wanted it!
If I can dig out my log in details Ill look up my Q on there and give you a link to his site.
You are in luck. I have manuals for all three models, series I, II, and III. I also have company records and can date machines from the serial number. As already suggested joining the VHGMC is a good idea, but I would say that as I edit their newsletter. See vhgmc.co.uk, note membership rates have increased. See my website at http://vintage-gardenmachines.freeservers.com/ . Let me know if I can help further.
