A few years ago my neighbour warned me that he could hear my telephone conversations on his radio when I used the remote handset on my BT phone. Do the new digital phones solve this problem?

As such they can all be listened to given the right equipment. The older analogue phones were more easily listened to than todays dect phones but they are not a secure means of communication. If you want privacy from casual snoopers then the only way is to use a traditional wired handset phone.
