still cant send it, so I'm gonna try and paste it here,here goes,
as far as i can remember, don't forget im going back fifty four years, i used to aproach Leicester from the sixhills A46 route, on towards the city and then turn left into Gypsy Road or lane,and somewhere down there was a new housing scheme, Built by a building firm called SERRIFF, i remember this as he had a board in his front garden, cos as i said b4, It was a new house, he only lived there for a couple of years, as his wife left him for an Pakistani, think it was something to do with islam, any way he came back to mansfield with his daughter, my Niece, who was about three at the time.
I can't confirm any of this for you as i lost my brother about six years ago.
he was elleven years older than me,then I lost my niece about two years later at the tender age of forty six to breast cancer.
As I said I used to cycle there every sunday to see him, and that is where I learned about oakie the ice cream manufacturer, Sorry i can't be more specific, but if you do need any more info, i do have ways of getting it,
