I'll probably get slated for this but I actually enjoyed watching this weeks programme. It has given me an insight into processed foods and that if additives and preservatives were not safe they would not be put into food under EU law.
After Jamie's school dinners and Hugh's broiler chickens, do you think this could be the new food revolution endorsed by a cook/chef? Will tins of processed meat be flying off the shelves in your local supermarket?

Norwich were fighting an battle against relegation from the Premier League so to rally the troops, she grabbed the microphone from the club announcer and said: "A message for the best football supporters in the world: we need a 12th man here. Where are you? Where are you? Let's be' aving you! Come on!"

I watched Delia' new show but did struggle a little against my feelings that she should really have made that instead of getting it from the packet!! However I completely agree with a lot of comments about time being against us, I love cooking but do use ready mades some times as they are so easy just to chuck in the oven or microwave. I also agree with comments about pretentious chefs who seem to think we all have hours to faf about with complicated recipes which don't taste much better than the simple tried and tested ones we all love.
By the way tiggerblue give me your recipe for hot and sour soup immediately please as I love hot and sour soup!

wow . knew this would be a good discussion. good on delia for being realistic! i'm a cook and i love to cook and bake from scratch but it isn't always feasible. if i do overtime,i don't want to start again when i get home,i just want something i can bung in the oven. my lot don't mind. i think so-called celeb chefs and the media and other food fascists want to try and make us feel guilty about our lifestyle choices. i'm sick of being told what to do by people with too much mouth and money.
