I think this should be compulsory viewing for anyone thinking of making a quick buck out of dog breeding without caring about the homes the puppies go to.

sorry about that folks, but we are all like minded. It needs to be aimed at some of the idjuts in my area who have puppies (SBT's mainly) just to make some money......it makes me so mad as they are using their dogs as a commodity and have no care for where the puppy will end up, and certainly wouldnt take it back.
Ok, rant over......

Pure bred dalmations have inherit health problems which can be very costly in vets fees and insurance - same as GSDs and many other pedigree dogs.
I have always believed that a true animal lover will adopt a pet from a rescue centre rather than encourage breeding for profit and let a healthy, safe animal die.

I totally agree with Ethels comments about getting animals from rescue shelters. We got our cats from rescue and have giving them a loving home for the past 14 years. Sorry Jules, I too cannot watch the video as it would be too upsetting. For me cruel treatment of animals is almost as bad as cruelty of children. Almonty regarding your comments, I wonder if society is generally getting less responsible as a whole with more people thinking they can just pass on their problems to others?

before we were allowed to buy our Shar pei [8 yrs ago] we were interviewed by the breeder for almost one hour before we ever saw the pup and she wanted to know what sex and colour we were looking for, when she held the pup a tear trickled down hubby's cheek and she said yes its a match but we had to wait three months before we could bring him home but were allowed to visit and make friends. Thats what I call a proper bona fide breeder.
Later a Shar pei rescue was set up and we got our second one as a rescue to keep him company. In future I would use the rescue because dogs end up in rescue shelters through no fault of their own.
I cant bring myself to watch this video, sorry about that.

Oh my word, I just don't know what possessed me to watch that. It's horrific :( It breaks my heart that scores of animals are killed every minute due to the thoughtless actions of humans. I would like to show the greedy BYBs this, but I wonder if it would even get through and touch them the way it touches us genuine animal lovers.
I am just sickened. And so so sad.
