My lap top plays LOGGING OFF non-stop. Does anyone know which buttons to press to get back to normal?

any messages or errors
when you say logging off ... do you mean logging off .... restarting or switching off

Sorry - my question was not very clear. Was actually asking this for my 86 year old mother whose lap top seems to be malfunctioning! As we have a few hundred miles between us I cannot actually look at it. She gets the Logging Off signal when she turns it on apparently, and cannot get it to start normally. All was OK until about a week ago when this happened.

Is you mother shutting down windows fully before closing the laptop? This would present the shutting down/logging off screen when the laptop is opened again.
