In the absense of any decent new policies, the Tories have launched a rebranded new Boris Johnson for his bid to be elected Mayor of London.

In an attempt to de-buffoon the great man, they have given him a new haircut. Gone is the mad, unkempt mass of straw that we have all come to love, and in is a new groomed mane (ala Michael Hestletine).

Surely the London public will see through this, or can Boris win it from Ken?

I hear Ken has given up on all policies and tube lines for the south and has taken up an emergency appointment at Toni and Guys.
image, image over and over again.

Does it really matter what his hair looks like? It only matters what lies underneath, and seeing he is a much more intelligent man than Livingstone, I will go for "buffoon" Boris rather than "Mad" Ken.
He's the Prince Philip of UK politics.
He lacks Philip's charm and people skills though.
Gromit, Boris is going to win whatever his hair looks like.

Ken is yesterday's failed man!
You would have thought that with an upopular incumbant and a Coservative challenger lacking credibility that the Liberal Democrats would have stood a chance.

He doesn't seem to get a look in with the national press so I rather imagine that's the same in London too.

Still there could be a surprise - I won't hold my breath though
Unfortunately Boris has chosen not to focus on proper politics.

In a city facing growing knife crime, huge environmental concerns, Olympic development and the opportunity to transform itself into the leading city in the world, I can't believe the amount of time he spends talking about 'bendy buses'.

Is it the alliteration?
