Will There Be A Christmas Top Of The...

An electrician has recently found woodworm in the floorboards of my house. Apparently it's upstairs and down, but I'm not sure which type it is(eg Furniture Beetle etc).
Does anyone have an idea how much I might expect to pay to have this treated?
Thanks

By chance I found an article by some guy who was a specialist in this field, written in response to many hundreds of e-mails from people who had been ripped off. Sorry I did not keep the url.
The gist of it was that most woodworm are in the tree usually when they are still in the forest before felling. They usually make the exit holes which you see within the first two years of the tree being felled. They will always look for moisture, so they do not like being in warm centrally heated houses. They would much prefer to go out in the garden and attack your trees. If the holes are fresh there will be dust around the holes.
From my experience (and most tv consumer programmes), nearly all woodworm companies will tell you that you have an active infestation and fleece you. In reality if a house is centrally heated and is of an age, then there is a good chance it is not active. I did not get mine treated as the house is 80 years old, but I will check it from time to time just in case.
