Hickory Dickory Dock

As a primary school boy I remember learning Hickory Dickory Dock. The teacher also taught us a second verse : "Hickory Dickory Dare, the pig flew into the air. Farmer Brown brought him down, Hickory Dickory Dare".

Has anyone else ever heard of this ?

The Oxford Dictionary of Nursery Rhymes gives as known additional verses, "�.The clock struck three, The mouse rang away" and "�The clock struck ten, The mouse came again."   It also has other variants eg "Dimmitee, Dimmitee, Dot".  It doesn't mention your teacher's version.

Yes - I've heard of it. Also Hickory, Dickery, Dock. The Mouse ran up the clock. The clock struck four. The mouse said 'No More!'. Hickery Dickery Dock.

In Iona Opie's collection of nursery rhymes the second verse goes "Hickory Dickory Dare. The pig flew in the air. The man in brown soon brought him down, Hickory Dickory Dare."

Thank you all very much. I did wonder if the pig flying in the air was a product of a hippy teacher in the swinging 60s.
