Best type of dog brush?
4 Answers
I have a Springer Spaniel and a Labrador Retriever - both of which shed copious amounts of hair. The best thing to use seems to be a flea comb but that makes it a long job to do both dogs.
I have tried various brushes and "rubber" gloves and they are no use as they really don't collect the hair.
Can anyone suggest a really good brush please?

They can also be used to carefully brush through the feathering on the Springers legs and tail.
Contrary to popular belief they are not sharp and do not dig into the dogs skin.

My friend swears by a furminator for her smooth collie. Although I only use mason pearson bristle brushes myself, which I find effective even when they are blowing their coat, and they doesnt damage the hair or skin.

I have a long haired cat who is 16 and is shedding fur for England now.. also getting knots which are a nightmare to get out.. Went to the Ideal Home last month and bought a GROOMIT Deshedding brush- it was 15.00 and worth every penny.. its absolutely brilliant it has 2 combs on it that switch over one for the top coat and the other for the soft underbelly fur.- and they say you can use it on cats, dogs, horses - long or short haired....As I say its been a Godsend got out the knots and all the loose fur..I could knit a sweater there is so much - except that I'm not mad!
