I am traveling from the US to the Dominican Republic in June 2008 and my passport expires in October 2008. Do I need to renew my passport before I leave in June?

There's nothing on the relevant website to suggest that there's any requirement for a minimum period of validity on your passport. See here:

As a general rule, you should have 6 full months remaining on your passport AFTER your return date from where ever you are travelling from.
