Mark Speight... ?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/73454 86.stm
I'm sad to read this, as only just being 21, I used to love Smart and watched it alot and thought he was cool.
I knew that he had gone missing, and the previous stories, but didnt think this was how it would end!
How come they have only just found him though? Mind you, I dont know Paddington Station so hmm.

That said, I think this whole tale about Mark Speight is sad and tragic. I thought he was one of the best children's presenters I've seen, and a talented artist - such a sad way to end two seemingly happy lives. RIP.

No of course neither of them isnt. But it is a sad loss to the families. I dont agree with suicide or putting the people that find them through that, but I have lost 3 friends through suicide and know how the familt feels. Can we all get down from our high horses, I;m sure if you were a member of his family you wouldnt be saying all this.
No one knows the personal thoughts & feelings of an individual just before committing suicide, as sadly, they don't live to tell the tale.
However, my younger sister attempted suicide at the age of 17, due to finding out that her boyfriend was engaged to someone else. She had no idea & was absolutely heartbroken, although we all tried to console her.....
Fortunately, my husband & me were staying at Mum & Dad's that weekend & on taking her a cup of tea in bed in the morning, found her in a comotose state, with no response at all. It was such a terrible shock & the feelings of losing her were indescribable.
She was rushed to hospital, where she was eventually revived. The sound of her being sick & wailing as she came round was music to our ears. She went on to marry someone else....
In Mark Speight's case & many others - there but for fortune go your or I......very, very sad.

Very very tragic and sad.
How awful it must have been for him to have found her in that bath (with 60% burns). I don't know if I could have returned to the flat ever again. I think I also would have been full of regret for not having found her sooner or not having done things differently. I think most people would question themselves and their own actions after going through something like that. To add that on top of going through the grief of losing a partner would be my idea of hell. My heart really goes out to this man.
Some of the news reports say that he had been organising a tribute concert for her so he must have been trying to cope with it as best he could, but clearly it all became too much for him.
Yes, there may have been drugs/alcohol involved in this story but it is real life and these 2 people loved each other and were loved by their families.
A very sad and tragic situation.

Very sad, but why do people take drugs when the consequences are so terrible? I don't think he got over his girlfriends death, but at the end of the day they both wasted their own lives at their own risk. How awful though to think he ended up alone and upset in the last few hours of his life. Terrible news for the family and my thoughts are with them.
