Just bought an ancient Peugeot 205. When warm, it runs fine and re starts immediately .Starting from cold, it takes a few minutes before i can stop giving it gas and come off the accelerator without it stalling. I've been advised to get a manual choke converter kit. Will this sort the problem? I know the car is old and i don't expect miracles for what it's cost. Advice gratefully received

Sounds like the auto choke not working, a conversion kit is about a tenner from ebay and a decent mechanic can fit it in about an hour

Thanks TWR, will do
in my experience , i fitted a "manual choke conversion kit " , on a german made car (not A PUG)..... and the choke converssion , kit was ok , for a few months , intil feeble components within the kit , broke , and it the conversion kit , never really functioned effectively.... a brand new carb , is too expensive..... a second hand carb , may be a short term fix only.......... its like many carburettor problems , you have to refelect on the age of it , the Carb / the vehicle...
