Dublin mate. Easy to get to & from Bristol, quick and in next to no time you're in Dublin. Fly Ryanair. and what you save on air fare, put to a half decent hotel. There's lots of nice places away from the "pulling"places too for meals etc.

Spot on Stevie-Boy, you fly from Bristol to Dublin on friday afternoon and return first thing monday morning for just 54.14 each inc taxes and book a hotel in the Quality Hotel in Dublin for 180 for 3 nights. Total cost for everything for both of you - 288.28 - Nice!

Go to www.ryanair.com to book the flights and hotel.

Just a note... this is from someone who has lived in dublin for the past year. If you decide to go to Dublin the other suggestions are right you can get there cheap. BUT in December the prices in hotels are higher than normal, however more importantly Dublin is the most expensive city in Europe after Rome (official) the average price of a pint is about 4Euro, smirnoff ice etc 5Euro (and these prices include your quieter week days, weekends are even pricier!) not to mention entrance fees if you go clubbing (approx 15 Euro), taxis (will rip you off cuz yr British. I assume.) Shopping is extorsionate, etc... if you go to Dublin I absoloutly guarantee you will spend a fortune (and not a small one). After my rant... I can say It is a truely great place, and i reccommend the experience  but please please please take a credit card or two (you'll need it!)

Is at also true that Dublin is the largest city on the world, i've heard the population keeps 'dublin' & 'dublin'....

Try Flybe.com.  Flybe are really reasonable, go to loads of nice places and operate out of Bristol.  Had a really nice weekend in Toulouse recently for about 80 return and also went with them to Jersey in the summer for tuppence happeny.  Hope you have fun.
Look for budget-airline destinations then use www.octopustravel.com to source a hotel. Look out for some of the ryanair airports eg their version of Barcelona is over an hours travel from Barcelona! Check all locations using www.multimap.com

try easyjet for flights then go to

ALPHAROOMS.  six friends of mine are of to portugal   flight 4* hotel HB  3nights all for 100  each.

There's loads, however good prices will be gone by now. Avoid the usual places Prague, Dublin etc. Why not try berlin or Budapest if you can afford alittle more, both great places day and night. Or not to be underestimated Belfast if you are looking for a better priced weekend. Sort your cheap flight then book direct with the hotel via the net, some great B&B's in N.Ireland try the tourist information site.
