I want to give my grand daughter money for her 18th birthday (thats what she wants) but I don't know how much to give. Can anyone help me please.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.your mistake was askin ....i think gift of �25 is more than enought ...after all its the thought that counts not the amount... and you are the granparent not the mother / father big money comes from them if you give her �25 ..or ..�50 ... or �100.. it will make no diffrence to her it will be spent before you could say ...happy birthday .lol .. �25 is more than enought
Never having had the pleasure of being a parent (or a grandparent, obviously) I would not know this for sure, but have been told never to give children money as a gift. Was told it was too impersonal, and would "put a value" on your relationship with them. Not sure I agree with this, but if you get them a gift instead I think it has a "thought value" attached.
Depends on what you can afford, and your granddaughter will know this. Money will always go down well, but if it is something to remember, then something personal like jewellery would be better.You could always ask her parents, but If you have loads of money, you could consider using your inheritance tax allowances.................
