The hot water might not be moving out of the boiler as quick as it will be heated. This will cause excess heat and excess expantion of the pipe work. This is where the banging is coming from. Turn the thermostat on the boiler down to 1 or 2 and see if the same thing happens. The under lying fault could be one of a few things;
Faulty boiler thermostat
Faulty gas valve
Faulty pump
Sludge build up in the radiators
Air lock in the pipework.
