Lankeela you beat me to it. Many thanks to everyone who offered advice and encouragement. I am so proud I could burst! George was completely unfazed by the large flapping tent, thousands of people and even more dogs. He wagged his tail all day. Glynn took him into the ring and when the judge came over to him he stood with his head up facing forward, tail wagging like a pro. The only problem we had was when he spotted me on his run and came careering over to mummy. I hid and he continued without a hitch. Mr thugulike was reassured to see other mastiff handlers being towed around and thinks he can probably make quite a good job himself
We're going to practice, practice, practice. Seeing so many other mastiffs was brilliant and I learned a little about what makes a good dog.
We drove up and down on Saturday, Edinburgh is only about 2.5 hours from Penrith. We had visitors who made a fuss of George yeaterday morning and more visitors (who are afraid of dogs) yesterday afternoon. He went all clingy last night and wanted to lean on us and cuddle. Do you think he was missing the limelight?
Many many thanks, especially to lankeela and jules.
Lankeela how did you know what George had done?
