It is widely accepted that Jesus 'the man' existed. Evidence for this fact can be found in the writings of Josephus, the Jewish historian and contempory of Jesus.
savedbygrace - are you a regular in disguise trying to drum up some speculative controversial Josephus/Jesus debate?! Its been done so many times before.
I dont believe this is discrimination against Christians. If anything it could be considered discrimination against non-believers, since the book assumes it is a true myth by its omission, thus making their claims untenable.
Christianity is about a personal relationship with God made possible by the act of 'Jesus, who was both man and God'.
Christians experience (spiritually) the person of Jesus. Jesus is very real to those who know Him. Once having experienced Jesus, it is impossible to deny him.
Just as it is impossible to deny any experience.
Those who do find it possible to deny thier own experience of Jesus, are known as backsliders and therefore condem Him to be crucified once more.
