I spent 8 hours in a police station cell in a crackdown on a pub fruit machine fraud in London many years ago.

I was totally innocent, but being a pub manager of the same company as those that had been charged, I was a suspect.

It wasn't pleasant and would never want to be locked up for a long time in a prison.
Hello chappie, I spent a day in one, helping a group delivering workshops to inmates, and it was just oppressively dull. Agonising boredom from morning 'til night, punctuated by the odd angry outburst.

However, for some, it is routine, 3 meals a day, friends...

Are you going visiting?x
I tempted in one for a coupla months, it was sickening, they had lovely rooms, brilliant meals, and I hated the prison officers - you'd think they hadnt seen a woman in years lol

Hi folks, and thanks for replies.

Leela, I'm not going visiting, I have an in-law who spent some time in prison. I rarely see him (not 'cos he's inside!) as he doesn't mingle much with our family, but apparently he really enjoyed his time in the nick.

Personally I don't think I could cope with being confined, however nice(???) I thought the place was!

My friend just came out and he said hes so bored out here he said he had more things to do inside.
I spent 6 hours in a cell once years ago , wrong place wrong time (honestly) . Not pleasant but thankfully they let us out just in time for last orders
When I was very young, I got myself locked in a police cell overnight for being extremely rude to a policeman. It was a very unpleasant feeling, unsurprisingly it was terribly claustrophobic.

WELL of course he just came out
he as been to prison ffs they make you gay in prison regardless of weather you want to be gay or not
A friend of mine is just out of a Swedish prison.

He was there for a little over 12 months and I was talking to him about it a couple of weeks ago.

He had a job inside and that was how they spent the majority of the week. Other than that, when they weren't eating or showering, they were locked in their cell - which meant 23 hours in their cells at weekends.

He said he has made some friends and has kept in touch with them and they had some laughs.

There was downsides to it and I don't think I should go into the detail he did with me on here, but some of what the inmates did to one another was gruesome (not sexual) - particularly to the paedo's.

Personally, I think I would actually lose the will to live if I ended up in prison, it is a genuine fear of mine and makes me shiver to think of being forced to stay somewhere.
