Slovenia
5 Answers
My boyfriend and I are planning to visit Slovenia in July/August whilst on a mini-tour of Europe. I've heard lots of good things from friends about this country but I'd like to read reviews from other travellers. I couldn't find much when I looked on google. Does anyone know where I can read traveller reviews or has anyone here been themselves? Many thanks. Also, any advice on the country to know before we go would be great too.

The city is quite small but very pretty; food and accommodation seemed fairly cheap. The countryside is green and hilly, getting mountainous up towards Austria, and the lakes are nice - Lake Bled is lovely. There's a short coastline with two towns, Portoroz, which is resorty, and Piran, which looks like a mini-Venice. You can visit caves at Postojna (I think there might be others too) and see the Lippizaner horses at Lipice. I don't know much about the inland half of the country around Maribor, though.
Here's links to a couple of photos I took, hope they still work
