Removing a magnetic(?) security tag
7 Answers
My daughter bought a bag in London last Saturday and has just discovered the security tag was left on - we don't live near London and she wants to use it for a holiday starting Sunday. Nor are there any of the same shops near us. How do we remove it safely??

I had a similar problem a few months ago, I managed to get the pin pulled out a certain amount and then I started bending it back and forth hoping the pin would snap, no such luck though.
I eventually used one of my kitchen knives that claim can cut through anything (a hammer head being used as an example!), and that's what did it in the end.
If you have one of those, then try that too, if not, could you nip into a local shop and ask them to do it for you?

I have the same issue, bought a skirt for a wedding and didn't realise until I wore it the security tag was still on then didn't want to risk taking it back in cas they thought I'd nicked it or something as couldn't find the receipt!
Will see if I canf ind one of those kitchen knives or maybe a hacksaw.
