However being a deeply religious country I woud suspect it was a religious festival -these can happen on a Wednesday -no such thing as a bank holiday Monday there. We have witnessed the most marvellous displays in the few years we have been out there (not permanently) -just had a look and I would hazard it was a religious celebration -can I ask where you were -were in S/E Spain -Costa Calida -Murcia region.

Glad you enjoyed it -each village has their own fiestas -throughout the year -the Spaniards know how to have a good time -we went out to our villages last September and it was week of 24/7 partying -fireworks all night but brilliant -exhausting tho !!
