Hi AC, Just to let you know (my post 10/06/08) I have downloaded AVG 8.0 O.K now. Seems to be working alright so one more question...... Do I have to buy it at the end of it`s 30day free trial, or do I have to install another security prog? Bye the way , hope you had a nice weekend in Preston & Manchester.

You have downloaded the wrong version, download the free select version from the link below

You will need to uninstall the version you have just installed (start menu > control panel and select add remove programs and then select AVG to uninstall)

Once that is uninstalled you can install the free version from the link above and you don't have to apy for it at all them

ACtheTroll, well, I`ve bought PC Advisor , July, Price �3.99 from our local little shop, with a free CD Magix Movie edit pro 14 on the cover. I can`t see anything about Kaspersky`s award winning suite etc, etc . Will the CD have it on it? Please forgive and be patient avec moir, Ami.

I dunno!!!!! Everything happens to me, I inserted the free CD into my drive and guess what? Absolutely s@d all, blank, kerfuffle, not a thing came up after 3 minutes, so I took it back to the shop and got my �3.99 back. Did I do something wrong, I ask myself and you?????

It's not one of my favourite mags - and my scanner is up-to-date ...

and I was waiting for wife while flicking through a photo mag.
but the offer is too good to ignore - and when I saw it ... I thought of you;-)

I'm starting to wonder if it was pca now .... ?
but the mag was bagged - and had the usual dvd case on the front ... with a big picture of the kaspertky box on it saying free 6 month trial of 7.5 + free update to v9.

when you see it ... it will be hard to miss

the current version is either august or possibly even september (the mags are always at least 2 months in advance for some reason) I subscribe ...

shy ... if you are using a corner shop ... it can be unpredictable ... as I say the mag that dropped through my door a couple of weeks ago was for august ...
the kaspersky offer wasn't there last week ... so it's the very latest edition.

I think it's pca ... but go by the free disk ... one of the oblong plastic dvd cases the Kaspersky box is very prominent on the cover ....

ACtheTroll, `tis I` again. Well I have got it `Kerpersky anti-Virus 7.0. So, I` ll give it a go. Uninstall AVG 8.0 and install Kasper.

so now you've got 6 months of "grown up" protection - it's about as good as you'll get - not bad for nowt ...

and while the paper is a bit shiny ... it might be some use to you for reading matter ;-)

what does it say about the update to 9?

I cant`t see anything relating to 9, or do you mean 2009. I`ve had my PC crash since yesterday and have spent hours sorting it out myself, but as you can see, I got there in the end. I got an doctors appointment @ 9.40 so must dash, contact again later.

Hi, I`m back. Just had a Zolodex stomach jab for the Prostate (Big C) which I have 3mthly, so I`m all `set up` for a bit more aggro. Anyway, I`ve uninstalled Kaspersky until I`ve finished with AVG 8.0 in 25 days time, then I`ll download it again. Give you chaps a bit of piece. Ta`ra.
