At the primary school all my kids went to, there are loads of parents races on sports day. My kids always insisted I entered and I always an embarrassment. Last year I was floundering on my back in the sack race, looking like an upturned turtle.
This year I won the egg and spoon race.
I may have accidentally had a piece of Blu-Tack about my person which may have accidentally become wedged between the egg and the spoon......
hangs head in shame

yes I didnt even attempt daffi I just ran through hurdles knocking them down. I remember doing the some race where you had to skip then drop rope then hop etc, then at one point you had to bob for apples. I got to that bit folded my arms and refused to do it as everybody else had done it before that and just the thought of all that spit put me off. well the teacher came along picked up the bucket and threw it at me :-( I was drenched.
Awww, 4get!
It was my kids sports day a couple of weeks ago and there were 13 different things to do and they had to go round in teams doing each one. My son got to no10 before saying he had had enough! My daughter goes to the juniors in Sept and they will be doing running races and that. I think that it is a bit unfair on the kids as some will obviously be slower than others may get teased x

I've got gold badges for sack race, egg and spoon, and the assault course (which involved throwing bean bags into buckets, skipping through a hula hoop and crawling under netting). Must have been about 8 when I did those, but I can't remember ever having been quite so proud of myself when I showed them to my mum.
