Generally the singing has stopped and it would appear they are being a bit ungrateful turning their beaks up at all the food that is provided for them on the garden feeders.
But in fact the opposite is true. There are nests to be made and constantly refurbished, numerous children to be fed and raised whilst on the lookout for intruders, so while some may nest in our gardens, most of the activity takes place away from our eyes where they remain undisturbed.
Keep the feeders going though as parent birds depend on this nourishment to keep them going through this exhausting time, and will come to snack very early in the morning, probably before most of us are out of bed.
