I would've liked to see Eddie Izzard, but he didn't want to do it.
Robert Carlyle please! Yum!
Richard O' Brien would be excellent. Used to love him in the Crystal Maze.
i reckon jack dee or lee evans would add an unusual but hilarious facet to the program!
Robbie Coltrane
Amy Winehouse - was it the Daily Sport?
I thought it was going to be James Nesbitt
The world's gone mad !
I love James Nesbitt, but he's confirmed that he definitely wont be doing it. Shame
Steven Fry or Robbie Coltrane for sure. They'd be the best at bringing the ecentric back to Dr Who.

Will miss DT though and Robert Carlyle would be the best 'eye candy' option from the list.
According to the daily mail, Amy winehouse is RTD's preferred choice. Fortunately, he has passed the future production on the someone else, so hopefully won't have a say in it.

I know that if it is her or James Nesbitt, I'll never watch it again. as I can't stand either of them.
Jason Statham would be great... but it would need to be a very different Dr Who... have they ever had a hard man tough one before

if not Robert Carlyle would fit the part really well

I suppose the "toughest" one was Christopher Ecclestone.

Well he was toughish in Gone in 60 Seconds, I guess.
Peter Doherty, if most of the aforesaid are to be considered.
Alan Davies.

I dont want Stephen Fry to stop filming for Kingdom!
pmsl at Amy Winehouse for Dr Who - that would be hysterical teetering around in high heels looking like she's crapped herself all the time !!!

Bring back Tom Baker I say !!!!!!!!!!!
None of them and deffinatly not Tom Baker.
Am I the only person who thought he was rubbish. It was like watching a 8 yearold playing some weird game.

I would like to see maybe Sean Pertwee in the part but thats unlikely.
That would be so cool.
Jason Statham . The DR is not a thug.
Neil Morrissey. No no no. The Dr is not a lad and I hate the thought of him breaking into Bob the Builder at some point.
Robbie Coltrane. Harry Potter is all I have to say about that. besides can you see Robbie running about like David has been doing. Same can be said for Peter kay.
All the others apart from Alan Davis are just a joke.
I can't really think of anyone else I would like to see in the part. David is the best one yet.
Hey wait a mo. What about Rik Mayal? He's nuts enough.
