I loved the exchange between sir.prize/arkitex/over18; I have to say, I get a little annoyed at those people who are on this site asking for answers after a few minutes of reading clues etc., I agree, doing the searching is all the fun of these things.
But, I was struggling this time; I did find the link to Thomas Cranmer but couldn't corroborate it. Well done to sir.prize if he or she did just that!
I haven't won anything either..........
Hi pjgriffo and haway,
Thanksto you both for your help. I could not find any real confirmation that Cranmer was the rector, but it seemed logical from the quote given, and the information I could find. Seems that I missed something as the only other reply I could view, apart from yours, came from over18.
Chere.
I came across the following relating to Thomas Cranmer in an article on Oxfordshire martyrs.
'He was sent on mission to Italy in 1530, and while in Rome was granted the benefice of Bredon (Worcs.) from the absentee Italian Bishop of Worcester, Jerome Ghinucci. '
Hi bradleyjohn,
Thanks for the information. Had researched the gentleman and found quite a number of interesting things about him, but nothing was mentioned about where he was a rector.
That is the fun of this type of Puzzle you have to look anywhere and everywhere you can think of to find the answers, which hopefully I have. It is also good that you can get confirmation from others via answerbank if you are indoubt.
Chere.
