Yes I've been to Paris. No, I had an awful time because of various reasons, two main ones being the food and the people being unbearably rude, and no, it was quite expensive.
Why would anybody want to go to Paris, when much closer to hand is Brighton, where most of the locals speak English and you don't have to shout at them very slowly to make them understand you.
Hi lubecki :o)
I went to Paris in March with my husband for my 30th. I bought the flights online with easyjet and booked the hotel online too. If you look to staying in the latin quarter it is much cheaper and fairly close to the sights. Where we stayed was just up the road from Notre dame and the Louvre. To get into most attractions it is about 9 euros each and there is a batabus (boat) which runs around the river seine which you can get a 1, 2 or 5 day pass for and we found it quite reasonable.
We had an amazing time and can see why people say the french can be arrogant but I don't think they are, they are just not happy smiley "Have a nice day" types like we are told to be to customers here for example. They were pleasant enough to us :o)
