Far more likely is that you are worried about something about school, your work and grades, or relationships with friends or teachers. Try and have a word with your school's pastoral carer if you have one, and see if they can organise some counselling for you to get to the bottom of what's troubling you.
No, nothing to do with the music you listen to i dont think!
More than likely it sounds like you are suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. This is where a person convinces themselves certain things have to be done or it makes them feel unsafe. It can be anything, from washing their hands a lot, to counting things, turning lightswitches on and off etc. I think you need a visit to your doctor as i think you may need to see a pschychologist to get to the route of this problem.
most probably not the music, that's incredibly unlikely. it's more probable that your mother is looking for something to blame or something like that (plus, how many mothers do you know that like what their kids listen to?!) it does sound like mild OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder as mentioned by the someone else) and it probably would be a good idea to see your doctor even if it's just to see if they have any suggestions on how to cope. it also sounds as if it's stress related, so maybe you could get something prescribed even if it's just something like herbal remedies!!

Exactly as the others have said - it's not Nirvana! :o) don't mean to laugh - but mothers eh!!
It does sound like a slight case of OCD, i can get it sometimes. It is more than likely brought on by nerves and worry - if it started when you started going to highschool then that's a pretty direct link. If you know that there is something specific at school that is worrying you, then try to deal with it. If it's not something specific, you need to try and relax.
See your doctor by all means, or try some alternative therapy's like meditation, acupunture, massage - anything to help you relax.
Good luck - you'll be ok, and don't stop listening to nirvana! :o)
