I own a Victorian end terrace house. The garden wall separating my house from my neighbour 's house in the next door end terrace is in my front yard attached to my house, but is in danger of collapse because of a tree on his side of the wall. The tree has been cut down leaving a tree stump, but this has forced my wall out over the past few months and the wall will shortly collapse. I could remove the wall, but the street is on a slope and his garden is about a foot higher than mine. The wall serves as a retaining wall for his garden, and without the wall any rain will wash his garden into my garden. Who is responsible for the wall. Is it his responsibility to shore up the soil in his garden.
Can anyone advise me about the legal side of this please.
Thanks for the answer. There is no damage to the house. I only have a yard rather than garden, but he has a garden. In the kind of weather we now have, his garden would soon be washed away, it definitely needs shoring up. Taking photos is a good idea, thanks.
