Deletion of Posts

One of the regular contrubutors recently posted in this category about the deterioration of this site and said that he would no longer be visiting - there were several responses, perfectly valid ones either agreeing or disagreeing, but this thread has been removed. At the top of this category it says "what really gets up your nose" - is it the case that if you say it is the current quality of editing of the site that gets up your nose then the thread will be deleted?

Yes...I have noticed seemingly random and arbitary post from loads of people going missing.....One of mine with a reasonable suggestion to a question about moustaches was wiped when I vouched the opinion that the wearer shave it off.......But hey it's ok to flood the place with moronic or ad infinitum posts about cowboys or bran flakes. As yet most of the regulars who have stopped visiting the site have stayed in touch but I fear if this goes on for much longer without a statement of intent as the very least from the ED then loads of good regular contributors will be lost forever.

Yes, it has certainly become more prevalent since Crystal Guides took over. Have I just committed AB suicide in writing that?

What is wrong with it is that it goes right against the spirit of the internet and free speech. I mean 'free speech' in its literal sense, not it's adopted political meaning. Rather than think of the use to which a question or answer might be put, the editors very much seem to approach their job with a very tight, limited concept of what the perfect question/answer structure might be and anything falling outwith this gets chucked. And I think that this site will fall on that...it survives with regular contribution from those who are simply making an effort to interact, just to see questions and answers 'banned' (what an awful choice of word) for very petty reasons. I for one, am outa here, will see what the competition has to offer.

As an example. I asked 'Is this a question?' What this means is 'What are the basic elements that suffice to make a question a valid question?', a massive question in philosophy that is perfect for a site like this. But it didn't fit the bill...seemed a bit cheeky, so out it goes, 'banned'...back to the yahoo boards.
