Wasn't quite as good when he returned with the other dogs as he wanted to catch them up but he is getting more experience with each show. And so are we. There were other exhibitors staying at the B&B who told us not to hurry as we would be on very late in the day as a minority breed. Mr thugulike then dawdled and we arrived at the ring and he was straight in. No time for nerves though. Next time we'll get there early!
Didn't realise that the entrants were published in Dog World so we've ordered a subscription then at least we'll know what to expect. There's such a lot to remember.
Many thanks for your kind thoughts. How did Jules get on?

Jules didnt.......!! The judge wasnt looking at the dogs, he was more interested in what was at the end of the lead, and he didnt appear to like tricolours at all.....say no more....
But...when we were going through the gates, I 'think' I saw you and George,as there were some of your breed leaving, (at around 11 ish?), and I thought I heard one call their dog George. I was trying to find the pass from my bag at the time, and you were talking to friends.

Commiserations Jules. We did leave about 11. We were alone but there was another couple with 2 mastiffs behind us. Only 1 mastiff called George as far as I know. You should have shouted. Err but not, "Hey are you a thug? Mr Thug is tall and blond, I have bright red hair.
Are you going to Leeds in 2 weeks?

It must have been us. I was also fumbling for my exit pass and wasn't watching. Bloke on the door said I would have to leave George with him if I didn't find the pass and I said, he would have to feed him. Then he didn't look quite so keen.
Isn't it strange when you feel you know people but you don't know their real names or what they look like?
We're going to Edinburgh 24th August. How about you?

Edinburgh is way too far for me, although for a couple of judges I would possibly make the long trek!! I have a few breed club shows in October and November, and I may do LKA as it is a local show for me. If I do, it will only be my one bitch, as the judge wouldnt like my boy......he is not her type.
Glad you are enjoying the showing. Glyn was judging at a show we were at last Sunday.
My friend got the Bitch CC and BOB again at East of England,
she is now on nine tickets and Top Dog in the breed this year so far. We are going to Paignton and Bournemouth, but cr*p judges at Leeds and SKC. She is also doing Wales, Birmingham and Richmond, but I have to work as we do markets on a Saturday. We had a brilliant three days at Peterborough, first time we have done the stall at a champ show.
