MM Links Solutions July 2008 [Week 3]

Remarkably, this third week in the tempestuous life of Princess Pauline went without a hitch with links based on the theme of Digital Camera! Perhaps Pauline was a little trigger-happy, starting off a minute before time, but nothing serious occurred. I can now reveal Pauline's chosen links were:

CREDIT Card
Print SHOP
Computer VIRUS
Optical ILLUSION

Once again, there were some good scores among the leaders and the early birds!

The early success went with OPTICAL ILLUSION and Entrant #1, Grenmus, was under no illusion that it should be included ~ as were Strix, sarumite, AllyLally & forward who lodged the same prediction within the required two-minute window. All would receive their TWO POINTS. Not so with x-ray, who arrived a little late for the bonus point. At this same recorded time of 09.04, Entrant #11 appeared on the scene in the form of cliffyg with Optical Illusion (yet again) together with the brand new PRINT SHOP to merit THREE POINTS.

Shortly after, the international votes started to arrive and it will come as no surprise that seekeerz made a direct hit with COMPUTER VIRUS followed closely behind by kettledrum to repeat the performance for TWO POINTS. In between these, LaneyB slipped in an Optical Illusion for One Point, but the best was yet to come.

At 09.12, patchett called in from a rainy Lincolnshire to chance her arm with two of these early links together with a newly issued CREDIT CARD to score FOUR POINTS and produce the best result of the round. I therefore name patchett as the HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK!

With all four links claimed, the game continued to rumble on with occasional singles, HOWEVER double hits were registered by devadiva & Mr Ontice. Well done you two! Clearly being mentioned in despatches last week has brought on a rush of blood to the head.

The League Table after this third week is as follows:

EIGHT POINTS: forward
SEVEN POINTS: wickedtongue
SIX POINTS: cliffyg & sarumite
FOUR POINTS: patchett
THREE POINTS: devadiva, evsajo & Grenmus

Next week, there will be everything to play for as the last lap will take place. Who will take the July crown and earn the honour of setting the Links for August.

I think Sarumite is understanding me too well having spent a week with me...he knows my love of anagrams!!!

After the night I had Friday...it was truly a miracle it went so well!

The one person who didn't surprise me to get a question right, considering all her problems with her computer (i.e. virus), was our wonderful, of the KM links, seekeerz!! :) (yup, S, keep thinking Apple!!)

Apart from the ever sage sarumite, what happened to the rest of the Stockport hot-bedders???!

Pauline, I knew when they were with you they were seldom "kippers" (too much fun) but now they have deserted you and Reg (not forgetting Laura - who is probably still asleep) to be fed "red herrings" - that's a bit tough!

Particularly as, given your love of anagrams, your name can be scrambled to make "a real wind up" !!

I am truly amazed !! First time I've received bonus points on MM - and wouldn't you know it {computer virus !!] it's the only thing it hasn't had......yet !!!
