my new apartment :)
i cant beleive im moving to my new apartment next week.
:) :) :) =D
but the only problem is ... packing, where do i start?? my work colleague advised me to pack all the things that are not essential first. everything seems essential to me!!
arghhhhhhhhhhh....... i havent even started packing yet!!!
i dont have to move everything at once, i suppose i could move stuff in ..bit by bit.. but its sooooooooooo stressing!! help!!!

I know the feeling, it's a nightmare!
When I moved from my last (rented) house to my new (bought) house, I had a two week period to do it.
I packed the non-essentials first, like ornaments, lamps, DVD's, CD's, books, stuff from under the bed, clothes I could do without for a couple of weeks etc and took them to my new house by bit.
Then the day before I moved in properly I took stuff like my PC, telly, DVD player, stereo etc.
At the end when the removal men came all I had left for them to move was the big stuff like my settee, fridge, washing machine, bed, wardrobe, dining table & chairs etc.
I really don't know how I would ever cope if I move again and have to move everything on the same day!

I always start with an "easy" room, like the bathroom, or a hall cupboard. Makes you feel like you have achieved something.
My other stronly recommended tip, if you have a car or access to borrow/hire one, is let the removals men take the big heavy stuff and general boxes, bu pack your small fragile or valuable/electrical items in your car, along with a box of any bits and pieces you will want easy and immediate access to, i,e a kettle, tea, coffee, sugar, plates,cutlery, duvet, sheet, pillow.
In my exerience of moving, fragile and electrical stuff is the most likely to "GO MISSING", or get broken, so avoid letting burly movers/strangers near it!

i really wish i could fast forward my packing!! ive been trying to pack all day. the more i dig out the more its going in the bin or charity lol (which is a good thing).
but i just dont know where to start. I am only moving to a rented apartment. So all i need are my luxuaries and my essentials(TV, Hi-fi, PC/Laptop, clothes, toilttries etc). i wont be able to take all my things with me (i mean all my soft toys can fill up a box room!!) my Apartment is tiny and only one bedroom. i suppose i can leave most of my stuff at my parents place (my room lol)- i can also move things in bit by bit! :) i can just take my time i suppose.

As regards you essentials pack a bag like you were going on holiday for the toiletries, clothes etc... you will need.
Pack all your bedding together so you can just put it back on the bed when you get there so you can get to bed if you've not finished unpacking.
I had a massive clearout last time I moved and gave a lot of stuff to charity shops.
Old videos and such could be given to a local hospital for patients to watch (kids videos and old cuddly toys and games could go to the children's ward).
Plan where you are going to put things so you don't just end up with a load of boxes everywhere and you have to move everything before you can make a cuppa or go to bed etc...

I moved recently, and a lot of my stuff went to charity, and to the local tip . I was in a similar situation , where I had 3 weeks to move things, so I made sure I took a boot-load of stuff every day, but even then, the old house looked full right up til the end.
It's a lot less stressful than those who have to move things all in one day, so look on the bright side. And in a week's time, it'll be sorted...
...but then the unpacking starts!
