I did however pick up a book that was an interview with Coelho and acted as a kind of biography of his life. He is again vague on the kind of religion he follows now. Unfortunately i have loaned the book out and not had it returned so can't think of its exact title.(it is a dark book with a simple photo of the man). Even though he is vague on his current spititual allegiance the book is great as it gives a good insight into his past i.e. his time in a mental hospital, his work as a music producer and his experiments in the dark arts.
Personally i feel the two books you mentioned are his best.....i found it tiresome to read anymore about his ideas on spiritual enlightment, especially as his own is so obscure and sercretive. Might be worth finding out the secrert to his success though as he is one of the most successful authors in the world.

thank you for your response.
I like the sound of the book you mentioned, i have not read it but i think i know which one it is, it is described on the back cover of the alchemist.
i have recently finished the Witch of Portobello, i don't know if you have read this one so i wont make any comments just yet.
I am intrigued in his interest in Alchemy as i am aware that he did study it for some years. When i have actually tried to research this, the results are sketchy at best.
With regards to his secret of success, he does seem to have the midas touch. I suppose if you have had as many best sellers as Paulo then your spiritual well being will be somewhat clearer than the layperson as you dont have as much to worry about.

Yes I followed the same process - the interest in alchemy. I suppose it comes from a health questioning of his work. I picked up quite a good book on Alchemy:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philosophers-Stone-Que st-Secrets-Alchemy/dp/0330489100/ref=sr_1_4?ie =UTF8&s=books&qid=1217407237&sr=1-4
It is a very heavy subject however and even historians are unsure as to the exact process's the alchemists followed as the instructions are very often hidden in art i.e poetry or paintings. Although it doesn't give you any answers or practical ideas on Coelho's alchemy it is a very interesting read.
I may give his new book a try, is it any good? I think the last one i read of his was Eleven Minutes which was good if a little different from his previous work.
Yes i'm sure someone with his success would find it easier to search for self. With the hectic life most of us lead it is almost impossible to take two minutes to reflect on our day let alone meditate or climb waterfalls lol
Did you ever read 'The Celestine Prohecy' ?? Again this was a spiritual enlightment/journey story that sounds incredible but its practical implications are often obscure, it does have some very good ideas on how conflicts are won/lost depedning on a persons upbringing though.
